- Installing WordPress Theme
WordPress is a blog theme that comes with back-end software and also a beautiful front-end GUI. A lot of themes have been made by third party vendors to change the look and feel of the WordPress software blog. Although installing a WordPress theme is easy, it involves the following steps:
1. Extract the theme files by preserving the directory structure on to your hard disk. Using the FTP client, connect to your web server and create a new folder to contain the new theme under the wp-content/themes that is created when you installed WordPress.
2. Upload the theme files along with their directory structure to the new folder you created on your web server.
3. To activate and select the new theme:
a. Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel.
b. Select the “Presentation” sub-panel.
c. From the “Select” column in the table, enable “Select” for the theme to activate.
d. Click “View Site” at the top of the Panel’s screen, to view the new theme.
WordPress Themes are extremely version sensitive any a theme developed for WordPress 2.0.1 and may not work properly with other versions of WordPress. Most of our templates are designed to work with WordPress 2.0.1.
